Programs

 

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) - funded by DCS/MDHS Designed to assist low income families to meet home energy needs.

Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) - funded by the Division of Community Services, MDHS - Provides case management services and assistance in employment, education, health, nutrition, transportation, child care, housing, emergency assistance, income management and self-sufficiency.

Weatherization of Homes - funded by DCS/MDHS - Mid-State certifies eligibility and makes referrals for weatherization services to WWISCAA in Greenville. WWISCAA does the work.

Tunica County - Funded by the Tunica County Board of Supervisors - Provides homemaker services, congregate and home delivered meals and energy assistance.

Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Programs - Provides food, shelter and utility assistance to families in Panola, Quitman, Tallahatchie & Tunica Counties.

The Power to Care - Provides assistance with the electric bills of low-income elderly and disabled Entergy customers. We complete and submit applications for this program.

Senior SELECT Program - funded by the Delta Workforce Investment Area (DWIA) through South Delta Planning and Development District - This program provides work experience and employability skills training to disadvantaged high school seniors to help them earn their high school diplomas and prepare for a school to work transition.

Out-of-School SELECT Program - funded by the Delta Workforce Investment Area (DWIA) through South Delta Planning and Development District - This program provides work experience and employability skills training to economically disadvantaged 16 - 21 year old, low-income, out-of-school youth. The participants attend basic skills classes to prepare them for the GED Examination and employability skills classes to prepare them for a school to work transition.

Summer Youth Employment Program: Funded by DWIA, this program provides Summer Employment for low-income youth ages 16-24.

Desoto Garbage Waiver Program - funded by the DeSoto County Board of Supervisors - This program provides for low income families to have their garbage fee waived if they meet certain income guidelines. DeSoto County refers the client and we certify the income.
